Public
health sciences at the college used as one progrem study. In
some universities have even become a faculty, the Faculty of Public Health,
better known by FKM.
Department
of Public Health was first established at the University of Indonesia (UI).
The
original idea of the establishment of FKM-UI was first coined by Dr.
Mochtar, who served as Chief of Public Health and Preventive Medicine FK-UI
which is then followed by a doctor Sajono Sumodidjojo in 1964 with the proposed
project to the Rector of the University of Indonesia, Dean of the Faculty of
Medicine and Representatives WHO
in Indonesia.
By
the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science No. 26 of 1965 dated
February 26, 1965 it was decided that the School
of Public Health set up under the
auspices of the University
of Indonesia. On
tanggal13 March 1965 Preparatory Committee for the Establishment of FKMUI
formed whose members consist of representatives of the Faculty of Medicine,
Department of Health, Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of
Labor. Decree
of the Minister of Higher Education and Science No. Decree
153/1965 fixing earlier, set a date for the establishment of FKMUI, ie July 1,
1965.
Decree
of the Minister of Education and Culture no.5581 / discharge / BUP / 65 decide
and appoint doctors Sajono Sumodidjojo as its first dean (Wikipedia).
After
the formation of FKM-UI, several other public universities also memrintis
establishment FKM like Airlannga University, University Diponogero, Hasnuddin
University, and the University of North Sumatra. Until
now study program as well as the Faculty of Public Health began to develop in
the other state universities or private.
Graduates
of this course will be the title of Bachelor of Public Health (SKM). Adapaun
specialization or concentration are offered on an undergraduate program, among

the University of
Indonesia, this stream is
further divided into more specific realm. AKK
department in FKM-UI is divided into several specializations namely, Management
of Health Insurance, Health Services Management and Hospital Management. While
the department provides specialization Biostatistics and Health Information
Management Health Informatics.
Fortunately
level master, specialization, which opened more varied again according to our
interests and needs. Used
for the Master's degree in Public Health Sciences in general is a Master of
Health (Kes) or Master of Public Health (MSM). But
there is also a master of public health program that already has a specific
title. As
an example for the master program in FKM-UI like Epidemiology (M.Epid title),
Occupational Safety and Health (M.KKK), Hospital Administration (title MARS).
Public

By
varying the concentration and discipline of public health, the medical
profession is not only a public health science itself, but develop according to
